Some commands useful for mounting (mount), unmounting (umount) and file checking (fsck).
1. Permanent mounts in
sudo nano /etc/fstab #after editing check with (else reboot may fail): mount -fav # = fake/all in fstab/verbose
2. if root partition is corrupt, use:
shutdown -rF now
3. for other partitions use
sudo fuser -km /mnt/storage; sudo umount mnt/storage; sudo fsck /dev/xvdb1 sudo fuser -km /mnt/dump; sudo umount mnt/dump; sudo fsck /dev/xvdc1
4. Content of fstab as of 27.05.14
- /etc/fstab: static file system information.
- Use 'blkid' to print the universally unique identifier for a
- device; this may be used with UUID= as a more robust way to name devices
- that works even if disks are added and removed. See fstab(5).
- added gh, 2014-05-25: OUTPUT OF: sudo ls -l /dev/disk/by-uuid
